Anyone know of a good program that cleans up your mp3 library?

For those that download torrents and whatnot. A lot of the albumbs and mps files have all kinds of bullshite/dashes/underscores etc that just trash up the files in general and a lot of times screw up the track listings.

I had one that worked in conjunction with iTunes a while back. Supposed to find missing album art, clean up the library, the whole nine. But alas, like iTunes it was pure shite. Tia for any suggestions

After I ripped all of my CDs I ran them through MusicBrainz Picard which names and tags everything appropriately according to the MusicBrainz database. The database has most officially released albums and some bootlegs as well. You do have to interact with the program to make sure it is locating the right release. There are a number of settings to allow you to select which naming convention you prefer, etc. To this point I have run about 1.6 TB of music through it and have been extremely pleased with it.

Oh I'm right there with you on loving the album art. But I maxed out my hard drive on my Mac and had to find ways to compensate for more music. But yeah it's definitely a do as you go process

With Picard you can select to have the album art embedded in the music file. It takes up much less space.

Windows 7. But there are versions for both Mac and PC. One of my cousins uses the Mac version and says it works very well also.

I have not jumped to Win8 yet. Can you run programs in compatibility mode? Might be worth a shot if it will not run straight on 8.

ETA: Looking through the forums now and it looks like some are running on Win8.
