How do I go about reducing a 511 MB video to 500 MB so I can upload it on photobucket?

You need to get rid of 11 mb

Then it will work

I blame my 1st grade teacher for that she should have taught me better.

Do you have the adobe creative suite? You can compress your file in a number of programs. Or look online for a site that will compress the file. What extension is it? .mov?

.mp4

I could shorten the video and likely be good but I need to find a way to edit it.

do not have adobe creative

mp4 is an already compressed file. probably be best to cut a few seconds off, or you will lose a lot of quality by compressing it again.

I'm fine with that. How do I shorten the video without reshooting it?

oh my

download quicktime if you don't have it already

edit>trim and it will allow you to chop some off. But sometimes it actually makes the file larger because it saves in a different format. So look through the options of what to save it as.

That's about all I have for you
