Are high expectations the reason why the crowd is "lacking"?

It used to be every game was a struggle. Now everybody expects us to win almost all of our games. So maybe people don't get as excited for regular-season games, because of them looking ahead to SEC championships or BCS bowls?

What about the poor economy coupled with the fact that "good" games are televised? Maybe people just don't want to spend their money on The games given they have less of it. And it's cheaper to watch at home.

I will say that every game in 2010 the crowd was always in it to the end because every game came down to the wire. That season was fun as shite at home.

Perception is everything for the casual fans. They will come around after we beat Bama this year.

Maybe its the economy. Five years is a long time to be unemployed. You can't buy a ticket on an EBT card.

If LSU can beat Bama, they rest of the games will be record breaking crowds. That's my guess.

It is not the economy. The tickets are all sold, just not used...dam, how many times do we have to go over this.

these crowd threads are really old. this is a growing problem across the country, not just LSU, and there are a multitude of contributing factors, TV availability being a huge part

Huh? We're sold out, full and loud most of the game. Last year, at least after Bama, the players couldn't give a shite and that passed on to the fans. The FL game was an early afternoon anomaly.

Attendance is declining in college football and the NFL. This is not unique to LSU. For whatever reasons, more and more people are choosing to stay home.

As much as people are tired of crowd threads, there is reason for concern. Recruits will start to pay more attention to this.

It started with trying to explain how small our spring game crowds were. We are compared to Bama there too. We will continue to be compared as long a Saban is at Bama and this will become a pitch of his.

I also blame Samsung.

No, it's the traffic issues getting into the stadium

It should not require you to sacrifice your entire Saturday to go watch a game... People have kids, lawns to mow, etc...

It has more to do with Tiger Stadium being one of the worst venues to watch a game. Blocked gates, hot/humid weather, NO frickING WATER, a jumbotron the size of my home TV, whats become little interaction with a band, and blocked exit roads for no reason. You expect people to pay $100s of dollars for that???
