Why do people use "MNC"

when discussing the national championship in college football? Is there a WNC awarded in football now? Is MNC something really cool that I don't even know about? I need answers.

I've noticed it's mostly fans of teams that have never won one. I guess it makes them feel better

It's as annoying as when someone uses acronyms for players' names. I will spend several minutes trying to figure out who the frick they are talking about.

Figured a Bama fan would have no shame in calling anything outright.

What do you call your MNC's that you claim over teams that won it and you lost to head-to-head?

Mythical-Mythical National Champions!

ETA: Doesn't matter what team...anything based on opinion voting (past and present - getting into the game) is mythical. Just ask Okie State of recent times.

i thought it was Miles.

I.E.-

LSU will never win another Miles National Championship.
