I had wanted to see it this year in the theater but just saw this via redbox. It is definitely worth a rental. It's now one of my favorite Shakespeare adaptations and one of the better films of the year. (The best by far that I've seen this year, but I don't see many movies until they're on DVD.) It is amazing that this was made over 12 days at whedon's house.

Keeping the original dialogue with modern dress and locales really worked well. There are lots of good performances, but Nathan fillion steals the show despite his more minor role. He was hysterical as Dogberry. Even though it is definitely a comedy, there are some strong dramatic moments as well. Particularly by Clark Gregg as leonato and amy Acker as Beatrice. I plan to watch it again after I read through the play to get a better handle on some of the dialogue.

You won't regret it. One of Mr. and Mrs. Qwerty's favorite movies now.

Was the same way. I wanted to see it in theaters and could have, but I never ended up getting around to it. It looks pretty great. I'll definitely have to check it out.
