Davis. He was taking over in the 4th but coach subbed him out.

Just looked at Davis stat line. Holy crap, this guy is amazing

Can he be a vocal leader and at 20 yrs old be the one who gets after the loafers and demands hard play? Off the court he should be no problem as lead by example.

I know brah. Just fricking with y'all.
Monty better not pull that shite in the regular season, or I'm going to the dude's house.

same here
What's amazing to me is his FT shooting as a big man. He is lighting it up from the line. That'll be huge in close games. Man I can't wait to see some games. Gonna have to watch on some "internet feeds" soon.
Should be a fun season.
Question: Is Jrue getting better? He's been getting a ton of turnovers it seems.

why would he this season? No valid excuse this season unless he's hurt.

Enjoy this time. AD is your Shaq, the connection to the sport you're about to experience comes around every 50 years if your lucky.

I think that, like another poster had said in the game thread, it has more to do with it being preseason and Monty putting more stress on defense than Jrue had in Philly.
He's leading a new offense that hasn't had nearly enough real PT together to have completely gelled. Add to that, the improptu lineups with some guys not practicing/playing (EG) and new injuries (Reke), and it's hard to take any of this too seriously. Let's wait till we've got at least 10 regular season games under a new player's belt before we can even begin to make serious valuations. They're winning, so there's that.

Davis is the leader, but in play alone. He will speak with his actions.
I think Jrue will eventually be the vocal guy.
EG will take the lead for the rest of the guys on the bench.

Sir Anthony the Great. Top 5 NBA player by the end of the year.
I disagree with this to an extent. Davis was emerging as a vocal leader as early as last regular season. He may never be the true "court general" like a Chris Paul (point guard is more prone to that role by job description anyway), but he can certainly still be the "backbone" and vocal guy - I think a good comparison is to the fiery Tyson Chandler.

I think AD will be like kevin garnett in terms of bringing a tough attitude to the team.
Watching anthony davis makes me laugh at how much myself and other fans used to swoon over someone like carmelo.
Davis is the type of player that can bring a championship to the city. If every one of our young players is healthy and ryno and AD can shoulder the front court load, i don't see why the pelicans can't win a championship.
Dell demps is a genius if gordon and reke get healthy. This team doesn't even seem to need one guy to lead them. Since training camp, i haven't seen any tweeting pelicans. Everyone seems to be cooperative. Losing could destroy that, but being young helps a lot. This team as is, could grow with the players to be one of the most consistent, winning organizations in the league.

That's the hope, brother!!!
I would have to agree that this team's ceiling is as high as that of almost any team in the association.
It seems to hinge heavily on AD's actualized ceiling. I could see the development of AD into an elite, top 10, "franchise"-type player becoming a catalyst toward making guys like Stiemsma really get on board. The more attention/success AD gets/has, the more opportunity the role players will get. Stiemsma, Morrow, Onuaku, Miller and Thomas even all can carve out a niche on a very capable team. If that can materialize along with some semblance of realized projected production from Gordon, Evans, Anderson, Holiday, and Rivers; we could be in for quite the season.
