I just started reading the books a year ago and I already want to kill this guy. I can't imagine reading them as they came out.

It's been painful at times, but the theorycrafting and speculation is also pretty entertaining.

Yep.

It's going to be similar to this shitshow.

Word is late next year, HBO is pushing on. There was an interview this week in the Santa Fe paper where he mentioned he needed to "lay the tracks"

This would be piss me off. All my Hodor friends would spoil the shite out of the books for me.

So 'lay the tracks' means that Fat Man plans to have book 6 out by late 2014? Or does it mean that he's lazy and needs to sit down and write?

Good for HBO for not wanting to wait for Martin.

That would be the ultimate troll attempt by Martin that he'll live to finish the end of the series .

HBO will definitely pass him up. I'm optimistic that TWoW will be out no later than 2015, and seeing that season 6 will be in 2016....But yeah, if they're going to divide books 6 and 7 into 3 seasons (seasons 6, 7, and 8), and not start ADoS material until season 7 (2017)....no fricking way in hell that Martin has ADoS out by 2017. Unless he starts popping out books every 2 years like he was able to do for books 1-3. But he watches so much football and travels all the time going to nerd conventions that I doubt he'll have it done. He can whine and bitch at HBO all he wants, because he brought it upon himself/he's at his own fault for it.

Doubt it. Martin has already told Beinoff and Weiss who ends up on the Iron Throne at the end of the series so they know what general direction to take the show without having the books as source material or taking any further advice/direction from Martin.

At this point I think he runs around getting accolades at various trade shows and banging hookers.

Prepares and eats the various food in the cook book he wrote and washes it down with the tears of the series readers.

I honestly think he gives zero fricks about finishing the series. Hes already made his money. Wouldn't be surprised if he announces that hes adding another book to the series just to have one final laugh at the fans before he dies.

Good, I hope he chokes on lemon cakes, shrimp poached in almond milk or whatever it is, wild boar, and mutton stew.

Don't forget goose cooked with prunes, slow roasted fowl, and black bread.
