Can someone with inside contacts verify the info I got yesterday. I hear they are going to be changing the venue from the River Centre to the new L'Aburge(sp) casino. And it will not be open to the public but rather be by invite only to TAF members, corporate sponsors or the like. I hope the person that told me this was just yanking my chain. Thanks

Wow if true. I'll be pretty disappointed if I can't attend.

I really wish they did this on the weekend. I have never been able to make it due to school/work conflicts.

If this is true, it will be very disappointing to a large number of elderly Tiger fans. I know quite a few that really look forward to this event.

Please keep an eye on this for us out-of-staters and let us know for sure the venue and format for the February, 2014, NSD event.

I have not been to the Bash since 2011, but was looking forward to going this February, since it has been projected for some time how outstanding this next LSU signing class should be. It is sad that the format that has mostly been successful will be in for a possible change and may make it less accessible for many fans who might otherwise attend.

Well that's fricking stupid. There will be like 12 people there this year then.

Don't get this "member of the country club" mentality. It's a great venue with awesome food and I always enjoy the silent auction and watching highlights from last season and just hanging around with friends who still live in Baton Rouge. I live out of state so it's an event I enjoy when I can. Expectations are through the roof on this year's recruiting class as well. I remember when we got Sam Montgomery late in the recruiting day a few years back and that turned out to be a last minute gem. Always interesting on signing day. If they take that away form the public they should be ashamed of themselves. Most people who do show up are true Tiger fans. Let them enjoy the day! This would be a disgrace for the LSU football program and a slap in the face to the fan base - IMHO.

Always been a private event put on by the private gridiron club. Nobody is being stopped from organizing a competing event

I would hazard a guess that the public contributes significantly more money to this event than the membership.

Also don't think the various vendors will be very excited about downsizing either.

A real shame to squash the greatest recruiting gathering in the USA.

The times have hurt the event.

As the internet became the source for recruiting information more and more recruiting geeks stayed home. No longer was the fax machine the way to get the latest, the Rivals, Yahoos, Scout and others were there online for the world to see.

Attendance fell as a result and the thought is to move to a smaller venue, to throw a great party for the supporters and members of The Gridiron Club and have fun.

Like the gentleman said above, join the Gridiron Club because membership has its privileges.

It's a shame the Bash is waning, but times change. You can see that when you count the audience.
