game camera pictures lost: mini sd card android problem

Has anybody had trouble with when trying to view their pictures from a game camera in your android phone. I have 3 cards that I took out of camera tried to view them in my samsung note 2 and there was a file in there that said lost.dir

I bought program to restore data and photos but it is just recovering photos that had been deleted, not the ones in the lost.dir that I think my phone corrupted. I am not going to try to view them in phone again!
