Well I know its over used but I gonna call him beaux. His grandpaw and dad are named Rambo and Rambo II. Both champion dogs. I thought it would be fitting for him.

In the 80s Curt won damn near everything thing he entered in the Louisiana State hunt with the original Rambo.

He didn't win EVERYTHING, feller by name of James Richardson and his handler from Arky won a good bit too.. A Mountain Cur and OG got lucky every once in a while too.

If I could have found a local mountain cur I would have bought one. My brother had one that we killed a truck load of squirrels with. He was on that local outdoor show with Dana Walker back in 90s.

First generation is hit and miss.

Second generation should not.

Have you ever heard that a dog's name should never contain command sounds? A bit confusing for the pup when you yell "NO" and sounds similar to "BEAUX". Not to mention the confusion with the RambOs.

I'm stern because I care btw.

Yes I have but don't care. He will be smart enough to know the difference. He aint no dumb lab.

Plus all he will need to know is, In a hole, Dead squirrel and go get another one.

I was raised with black mouths, best looking in my opinion. I think they might be a little bit more calibrated with power and smarts to matchup with livestock. We used em for squirrels, coons, hogs and cattle.. Great dogs!!
The Mt. Curs are a little bit faster on the ground, faster on the tree, a bit smaller in most cases and can normally hunt all day and night..
Now, it would be hard for me to choose if I had the chance.. Both great dogs..

Don't mean to hijack, but where did you get the doodle?

Is that one a first or second gen?

I have heard that you should try to get a g1. Is that true?

On topic, that cur is a cool looking pup.
