I'm stranded in Lake Charles for the time being. So it is the mall theater for me.

I didn't think it was bad but I definitely didn't think it was worthy of a 9.4 average rating. The visuals were an 11/10. The acting was a 9/10. The plot was an 8/10 and the dialogue was a 6/10 IMO.

This pretty much sums it up. Tomato score should be more like 70-75%

Me too. Watched in IMAX 3D. It was a breathtaking movie, literally. I feel like there are no words to describe it. Miraculous maybe. Glorious? Definitely spectacular. Anyways, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Everyone needs to see this movie in theaters! It won't be the same on DVD/BluRay.

The people rating this movie 9 or 10 are gonna be the ones who went in hoping it was a 9 or 10.

I went in expecting a 10 and came out rating it an 8.

As for the comment earlier that said the acting was 9/10, I disagree. I never felt connected or involved with the characters whatsoever. None of what were meant to be the emotional moments actually stirred my emotions. The movie was brilliant based on spectacle alone. The characters/dialogue/acting added little to it, either positive or negative. JMO

So what I am gathering is that outside of the visuals, there is nothing that great about this movie.

Mmmhmmm.

Well I'll say I thought Bullock acted it very well. Clooney was meh. It's worth seeing once for visuals alone but the rest was very very average.

The reviews said as much. The plot is pretty basic. The story is told by the visuals. That's what every single review has been saying about this film since it first premiered in Venice.

So wait, Avatar is the most groundbreaking 3D movie ever with the best visuals you can ask for albeit it with a basic (but coherent) plot and everybody is meh at best about it.

Gravity is the same thing yet it is inner circle of film history great? What. Thee. frick.
