I would like to see what Montana, Elway, and Marino could do in these days of protecting the QB at all cost.

I think Aaron Rodgers will be in this conversation eventually. Really a great era of quarterbacks right now.

Poor Rodgers and his terrible offensive line..I've never known of a QB that great to be that poorly protected.

We're playing the Bears this week and you can't think of one?

Oh, "that great", guess it matters what you think of Cutler. Don't look at me that way, it's early.

Do they all have to be in their prime?

Pretty sure Unitas and any two other HoFs from the 60's or 70's could give anyone now a run for their money.

mine-

1 Unitas- defined the position as we know it today. Play caller extraordinaire, pinpoint passer, tough as nails, flat top hair and high top cleats!

2 Montana- Brees/Payton reminds me of the Montana/Walsh synchronicity. 4 SB wins with 3 SB MVPs

3 Otto Graham- incredible record, look it up, 7 championships in a 10yr span.

This shocks me as well... He was a contender on two different teams. Only one in the discussion that's done that is Manning.

That kind of thing just doesn't happen by chance.

1 Unitas
2 Montana
3 Otto Graham

Very nice Blu.
So hard with the changes in the game and rules favoring the offense to compare just using stats.
Otto and Unitas changed the position along with Paul Brown to what it is today.

I'll give two catagories.

Best/prettiest ball thrown I ever have seen was by Dan Marino.

Best when matters most Joe Montana.
