I just bet $100 with a work friend that they would. This guy is an idiot. He claims that Harden is a ball hog with no court vision. I also believe that he is letting his hate for Howard blind him.

Easy money, right?

James Harden is a stud. I didn't think he would be as good as he was last year. Top 4? I don't see why not.

I also made this bet after hearing that Westbrook would miss 4 to 6 weeks. I like that head start.

They could very well win the West, in my opinion.

But they could also have a slow start due to several new players, including Dwight Howard.

So no telling where they actually finish.

There is never easy money in the Western Conference.

Easily. They are right behind SA and could end up ahead of them. I don't get the love fest for the Clippers. They added more role players but still their top 3 players are Paul, Griffin, and Deandre. I like Houston, SA, GS, and a healthy OKC more than I do LA. Not to mention Memphis owned them in the playoffs.

In no particular order all of these teams have the ability to be in the top 4:

Clippers
Spurs
OKC
Grizzlies
Golden State

The West may be even more deep than it usually is. I honestly don't see it, but that is just IMO. The W-L records are going to most likely be so close at the end of the season at the top it should be interesting to watch.

ETA: That list doesn't include Houston, but I do think they definitely could make the top 4.

Why Golden State? Golden State was behind Houston last year until the last 2 games of the season where they finished ahead of them.

Golden State got rid of Jarrett Jack and Carl Landry, and added Iguodala.

Jarrett Jack was big for them last year.

I think they have improved overall, but I don't see how you can have GS in there and not Houston.

Easily. Spurs are old. Westbrook is out a month. The Clippers are gay. The Griz are overrated as fk. You're basically looking at a Rockets-Pelicans WCF right now.

I said they have the possibility. I honestly don't see it either.

I think 3 teams improved overall on that list:
Memphis
Houston
LAC

and 3 teams either got worse or around the same level they were last season:
Spurs
OKC
GS

I am just waiting for the Spurs to fall off. They are so old.

Kawhai Leonard had an awesome interview lately though. They asked him what he did all summer. He said, rest, workout, and work on his game. Then they asked if he did anything fun. His response: "No." Perfect player for Pop.

Every year it seems like this year will be the year their age catches up on them then they come out and they are still ridiculously good.

Agreed. He is the final piece of the Big 3. I'm so glad Josh Smith didn't work out. We are about to PAY Parsons. He is still on his second round Rookie contract.
