I thought him referring to Hill "sucker punching" was really uncalled for....he seemed to be angry at Miles for letting him back on the team. What is to be gained for demeaning Hill or Miles.

I just thought that was way more detail than needed at the time. First I heard of this being a "sucker punch". Seemed to linger a lot on Mett's problem as well. Mett's almost five years ago. Failed to mention that the coed who objected to Mett was Board of Supervisor niece and that Richt bailed on Mettenberger.

I have lost all respect for CBS crew. Danielson is so biased in favor the Northern schools, too.

Let us not forget that dear Gary was a do nothing, horrible QB for the Lions for years. Now he thinks he knows everything about playing QB but has never coached.

I said the exact same thing. He kept bringing it up and then mentioned the whole "sexual battery" stuff on Mett a couple times as well.

Never said anything about any UGA players. Like they're all good little boys or something.

He shouldn't be bringing any of it up in the first place. He really got on my nerves in that game.

I still like Gary a lot. Wish they'd team Verne up with his "onions" bud full time.

Don't worry..they will bring it back up when we play Florida, and when we play Bama on that network again.

I would contribute to a "Sucker Punch Verne" fund.

So you are mad at Verne for giving more information on the Hill story and not giving enough with regards to the story on Mettenberger?

And if this is the first you are hearing of this being a sucker punch you must have been living under a rock. There is even a video of said sucker punch.

Have you seen the Hill video? I would consider what Hill did a sucker punch.

Yeah, that was very noticeable. Not a fan of that duo. Lundquist is a hack and Danielson is overrated as an analyst IYAM.

We are 5 weeks into the season.
The incident happened in the summer. Talk about it then, when there's not much else to talk about it.
I'm tired of hearing it every game as well.
It's not a story anymore, we have actual football to talk about.
I don't care about whatever UGA or UF players that were arrested over the summer, which i'm pretty sure they had some as always.

First time Lundquist and Daniels have called an LSU game. First time most of the country has watched an LSU game. Most of them probably did not know about the incident and he was bringing it to their attention.

I think he is horrible at his job, but not because of the Hill comments.

Verne always does this to all players that get in trouble. Sometimes he says it twice in a game. I think he does it because he doesn't have anything else to say.

Morgan is a kicker that was charged with boating under influence.
John Atkins was arrested for driving with only a learner's permit.
Flournoy-Smith was arrested for falsely reporting a crime (third string TE that is no longer on the team).

I can easily see why they did not harp on these arrests vs. the Hill crime. Hill is the starting running back on the team and his crime was pretty brutal. LSU's arrests (Jefferson, Hill) and suspensions (Mathieu and RP) were for much higher profile players. That makes headlines, just a fact.
