Can the lack of push from the d-line actually help us vs aTm?

Was thinking that the lack of qb pressure from our D-line may actually be a blessing against aTm. If JFF doesn't get flushed out and is allowed to pass out if the pocket, I think we fare a better chance.

With our poor pursuit angles and tackling this year, Johnny out of the pocket creating plays with his feet is a scary thought. I'd rather take my chances with him beating us with the pass. Now they can and will still run him by design some but it's the improvised runs under pressure where he is at his best.

Am I nuts? Is he good enough of a passer to pick us apart like Murray did if given time?

No..A&M can run the ball up the middle very well.

We are going to have to hope for some screw ups on their part. We won't slow them down.

Good dlines are better aginst JM...see UF and LSU last year....he is going to go off on our defense...in TS. I hope the offense is ready.

We don't have the speed to contain him whether we flush him out the pocket or he just decides to run for the fun of it.

Yeah but it seemed our success against him was more a result of the scheme and keeping him in he pocket and not allowing him to freelance and not as much a pure pressure rush on him

disagree. We were able to get pressure rushing 3 forcing him to run sooner than he would have liked. Delayed blitzes worked wonders.

It also helped that our defenses ends could run him down the sideline

I dont think this is possible. The lack of push indicates they are having trouble getting off their blocks. cant make a tackle like that.

Your thoughts on scheme vs A&M are solid, but your
silver lining is still flawed. Lol

The reason we can't get pressure w the front four, or 7 for
that matter, is one in the same for why we won't be able to
contain Manziel.

On top of that, their receivers are far better than GA's.

When you can't contain the edge, get gutted up the middle, and beat over the top, there are no silver linings. You are left w penalties and turnovers. And when you NEVER attempt to force the action, you won't get either.

There is still a chance that significant personnel changes are made and the staff has misjudged their abilities, and based on the lack of improvement we've seen so far with players that have had experience, this is a very real possibility.
