Why does everyone seem to think it is the talent that is the issue?

The coaches are supposed to know what they are doing and teach these guys what to do. Just like everyone thought mettenburger was overrated last year and look at him now. Coaching goes a long way. Just sayin.

Just imagine if we had had a legit OC for the last couple of years what might have happened.....

I just think it is because we have lost a ton of JRs.

Normally you lose SRs and 1 or 2 JRs. The JRs step up the next season as SRs and the other kids come in as back ups and the freshman play.

We do not have that this year

I don't disagree with u, but...and I hate to say this...bama lost a bunch off the 2011 team and were still competitive last year.

Mickey Johnson
Q. Thomas

Lack of quality depth at DT

Jordan Allen and Rasco = average players

No middle LB

Freak = could not start ahead of Josh Downs...

Then this:
Trey Granier
Jeremy Liggins
David Jenkins
Alonzo Lewis
Jarrard Randall
Trevon Randle
Paul Turner
Corey White
Jakhari Gore
Cameron Fordham
Sam Gibson
Ronnie Vinson
Nick Jacobs
Brandon Worle
Luke Muncie, etc...

The front four of the future were all in high school last year at this time...

Outstanding troll job. You are going to get a lot of bites with this even though its pretty obvious no one could be this stupid. "Our coaches are the problem"...Good for you.

Quit acting like every year before this year LSU is loaded with senior starters. That may be true 15 years ago. This is the new age of college ball. The majority of star players leave after their junior year. Some leave too early and you see the results after they either go undrafted or their nfl careers last 2 years. It's all about the $$$$. I truly think the problem is that we have the wrong personnel on the field on defense. Let's face it Freak is not a horrible player but he is far from what he was expected to be. Ego and Rasco are decent but they aren't super star caliber players either. The fact that we get no pressure on the QB is a major problem. You can't allow good QB''s time to sit back and pick you apart. Maybe these guys are our best options. I dunno. LB is the biggest area of concern, and Minter may be the most missed player from last year. The only LB that's worthy of a starting spot is Kwon. There definately needs to be changes made. I don't feel like it can be any worse so give the younger guys a chance. As far as the secondary, BOTH JALENS are horrible. It makes my stomach turn every time I see Mills get burned and either start blaming his teammates ( sometimes rightfully so) or crying to the refs when the replays clearly show that he just got beat. Both of these guys need to be replaced NOW. Ronald Martin just isn't good enough to be starting, and Losten is the biggest 5 star bust since his cousin Russell Shephard. I think the coaches are reluctant to replace all these guys with freshman, but how much worse could it be? It's a crying shame to have such a dominate offense with NO HELP FROM THE DEFENSE
