Electronics Question - Android Tablets

I'm looking for a tablet. I've never had one. I know everyone loves their iPads, but I'm just not a fan of Apple products. I don't need it to wipe my ass. I'll just be hardlegging on Tigerdroppings, buying crap on amazon, looking at a little porn when I'm not going through a no fap phase and sending some work emails.

Price range $100 - $500

What ya think?

Only $200 is good. What is it lacking that the nexus has?

I have the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet. Would not recommend. Get the Nexus

ETA: I say would not recommend because personally, I didn't find it all that great. It's not bad, but it's not anything special either.

re: Electronics Question - Android Tablets

no clue to be honest man.

For me, I use it for general web surfing, watching netflix, reading, and the such. I like that I can convert any video to mp4 and put it on there without a program, i.e. iTunes for an iPad.

The price was right and I just wanted a little something to play around with. I take it to work with me for when it gets slow and it keeps me entertained.

The nexus is pure android (no manufacturer skins) and is very powerful compared to a kindle. It's a no brainer if you are spending $200+

That's really all I would use it for as well. Does it have any lag to it when watching netflix or browsing the internet?

Looking at it now. It's badass but I'm not sure it's double the price of a kindle badass.

If you want to spend less get a second gen Asus memopad hd7. Same specs as a first gen nexus and both made by Asus.

I have the nexus 7 first gen and the battery is absolute garbage compared to my first gen iPad. My iPad will last days without worry but my nexus gets a couple hours of use before having to charge it back up.

Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet

Just got one from AT&T for about $200.
I work on the road and out of the house. It is good for down time in the truck surfing TD and works really well for my prints so I don't have to lug around 30-40 file folders all the time. If I had it to do over again I would probably get the same one just because of price, but would rather have the Surface just for the USB port but at least I have the SD slot.

no lag whatsoever for me. I play a few games on there as well, like angry birds and sudoku, and no lag there either.

people can hate on it all they want to, but it's a good tablet, and a good first one for someone who has never had one (like me)

I really love it for streaming hbogo, and it has a micro hdmi port. I bought a chord for 6 bucks on amazon to hook up to my tv, that was a huge bonus for me, because I didn;t know it could do that before I bought it

I've got a first gen nexus and second gen memopad and the battery life is fine on both.

Nexus is consistently rated the best tablet available
