I got to Athens Friday just after lunch. And left after lunch today. I recently moved to North Atlanta a couple of months ago and was really looking forward to this weekend. I went to UGA for a couple of years before transferring back to LSU so it was great to catch up with some old friends.
Obviously the game speaks for itself and te outcome is not what we wanted. This was the least upset i have been after a loss ive been in a long time. But what I did come away with this week was an even better appreciation for where we are as a program under Miles.
I was sitting in section 102 above LSU section. Luckily I had some knowledgeable UGA fans sitting around me. It was great mix of LSU and uga fans where we were sitting.
I must say that this was one of the greatest atmospheres for a game I have experienced in college football.
The energy of that place was great. Reminded of 2007 Florida game in tiger stadium.
Both fan bases were great after the game.
UGA fans were pumped to say the least. They are not use to being on the winning side of these type of games.
That's were I have a greater appreciation for Miles and our program now. UGA fans that I talked with were envious of te hardware and accomplishments this program has had over the last decade. I think our fan base forgets sometimes how good we have it.
What a great trip and incredible game.

It was a great trip.

Weather awesome
food was great
drinks were flowing
people very friendly
the talent level was redonkulus

post game traffic...nonexistent. Of course I rolled right after the end. maybe most dawgs hung in the stadium after.

good trip. I recommend.

Impossible. People on here have been saying all day how Sanford doesn't get near as loud as TS and was only even kinda loud on the last 4th down play.

ETA: But I'm glad you enjoyed Athens

It was a great atmosphere but this:

is true to an extent. To be fair, nowhere that I've been gets as loud as Tiger Stadium for a big game.

I'm not saying it was as loud as TS. I'm just saying the overall energy in that stadium was incredible. You could just feel you were at a special game the entire game

Oh I completely agree. Great environment. I was replying to the Georgia fan who took issue with it because someone said something on a message board that he didn't like.

Was in upper deck row 15 with the Tiger crowd and like in TS hard to get the full noise factor up there but felt the energy for sure. Especially our last doomed drive got real intense and just felt the crowd was going to will those passes incomplete. As for UF 07 still not the same level IMO but I can see your comparison.
Several trips to games there but first time walking around Athens at night after was very impressed the quaint beautiful little town, the fans were so engrained in this win was unbelievable and 99% cool only 1% not.
Just wish this wasn't the game that they won one like it!
Back to the drawing board for our defense and bring on the Moo St. Dawgs.
Oh yeah, the traffic after on 316 west with the 50 signals it seemed was a real downer even worse then TS traffic!

I took 129 to 85 to avoid 316.

Great trip in spite of coming in second.

One thing I noticed walking through the main sections of campus from Broad St...no cooking going on.

They don't cook. They drink, and pick up BBQ or chicken and bring it to the tailgate.

I would assume everyone left the stadium early to beat traffic ?
