But the penalty is only a safety

Rather give up 2 pts, than 3 at the end of the game

If you jump from in the field of play and dont touch the goal post then you can legally catch it.... When the rule book says "bat" that means like a volleyball spike.. Putting your hands up and letting the ball hit them is not considered a bat...... Plus the ball can be advanced if it falls in the endzone just like if it was a punt

If this was a kick for a tie on the last play of the game, why not swat it? It gives the two points and you win by one point.
