Will the lack of depth on the D-line be a + or - for Anthony Johnson

Was just wondering if our lack of depth will end up being a positive or a negative for Anthony "Freak" Johnson and his draft prospects. On the one hand, he will probably have more snaps which would create more opportunities to make plays. On the other hand, by playing more he is more likely to get tired more quickly and as a result may not be able to give max effort for all of the snaps he is in the game.

Ego Ferguson seems to be having a breakout season but he is also benefiting from the double teams on Anthony Johnson.

Through 4 games, Anthony Johnson has 13 total tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss for -10 yards. He also has 1 hit on the quarterback.

For comparison, Ego Ferguson has 21 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss for -16 yards, 1 pass broken up, 1 pass defended, 1 hit on the quarterback, and 1 sack for -15 yards. Ego is second on the team in tackles through 4 games.

I think it will hurt his draft stock a tad, but his potential is so high that I don't think it will matter that much.

Bain and Herron will be the DTs of the future. You just gotta give them time to get developed under Moffitt and Haley.

I think NFL scouts notice that he's constantly double teamed.

But I really don't give a chit about his draft stock. What I'd like is for him to be able to get a break and not get worn down as the season goes...for LSU's sake.

Seems he's been nursing an arm injury of some sort for the entire season, and he can't get a break for it to heal up.

He's not doubled as much as you would think if you key on him during the replays. But he does get some. I am disappointed in his play and the nfl needs to be last of his worries right now. He has had a few years to understudy under some great dlineman but it hasn't translated into him being the dominate starter we expected. I think the arm is hurt more then we think.

He looked gassed during the auburn game and was getting pushed around. I think his arm is bothering him and he doesn't have the strength he normally has.

I also don't care about his draft stock, but he does need some rest to keep him fresh in games. Lacouture has looked ok and is a serviceable replacement. He is just so young and needs more time in the system.
