''NAPA believes in fair play and does not condone actions such as those that led to the penalties assessed by NASCAR,'' NAPA said in a statement. ''We remain supportive of the millions of NASCAR fans and will evaluate our future position in motorsports.''

quote:

Should MWR not secure sponsorship to replace NAPA, it could lead to layoffs of nearly 100 employees and the possible shuttering of Truex's team. Truex could be out of job, as well.

Dropping them after this year.

Serves them right

That was one damn costly screwup.

I feel bad for Truex and Vickers.

Smart move by Napa. They just got their name in the news, and a bunch of sheep will flock to their stores for " moral " reasons.

I haven't been following this story that much, but did the order to do whatever they did come down from MW himself?

And does ESPN keep him on as an analyst?

I've wondered this as well.

My opinion is that it did not.

Dropping sponsorship of race team =/= stopping commercials from being shown during races.

you guys don't like NAPA Know How commercials? they get stuck in your head, but they aren't as bad as some others that do. The god damn "Prius for everyone" commercial kills me. But NAPA isn't that bad.

Na-Na-Na-NAPA know how.....

It's a shame that MWR cheats. Why can't they be a good Christian organization like Gibbs? Wait, bad example. Hendrick? Wait, he's a felon.

They were gonna drop them anyway, they just wanted a scapegoat.

He's an analyst for fox and no, he's not even close to getting fired from fox

And this makes me think that NAPA was just looking for a way out if the sponsorship, there have been MANY issues of cheating and this has never happened, let alone to a car good enough to be in the chase, just seems to be an overreaction unless they were looking for a reason to get out.
