Think of Penn State, think of Joe Paterno. Think of Florida State, think of Bobby Bowden. Think of LSU, think of Les Miles. Let's face it, LSU is now Les Miles. I'm good with that.

it's a shame that saban didn't stay. he would have been our legendary coach just like bama's bear.

you disagree with that, rouge?

it's hard to say that he wouldn't have if he would have stayed.

Did you dream about your HS crush forever while going unmarried from bitterness? Or are you even an adult?

How did we do in 2004? He was here 5 seasons. How many of those did we have fewer than 3 losses?

I love Miles, but still don't think he is the face of LSU. At the moment yes, but if he was fired or left. Would he be thought of like those other coaches??

the history of LSU goes WAY beyond Les Miles. I like the man but the institution of LSU goes WAY beyond him

No, I'm saying the OP mentioned legendary coaches being the face of their universities....Can you really say Miles should be thought of like them? I'm saying, sure he is the face right now, but in the future I dunno about that. Those other coaches will always be remembered as the face of those colleges, just can't say that about Miles yet

Saban had worn out his welcome by 2004. There were recruits who would not have signed if he had stayed. The only reason he hasn't at Bama is because of the titles. When he has a down year-and he will, everybody does eventually--all the people he's alienated will come out of the woodwork with a vengeance.

I got tired of the SOB threatening to leave every year for the NFL if he didn't get a raise. Hell on him, and his greedy azz. I am perfectly fine with Miles, and the job he has done. There have been moments though.

as am i. it's just that, saban has to try and be his own legend at a school that already has one. he could have been a legend at lsu because cholly is hardly legendary.

Always is a long time. But I get what your saying which, I think, is different from the OP's point.

I'll let Les be the face of LSU after he brings home 2 more championships.
