The writer/editor relationship is one of checks and balances. Thayer, right or wrong, was looking to write an attention grabbing story. The editor should have whacked it forever ago.

No doubt, if it were me I'd hold a press conference just to call his mom a whore. Then the only question s I would take are about why he sucks.

I thought it was amazing SI even hired him after he released a number of stupid articles for MSN's sports site. Now, I guess SI is finally seeing the err of their ways
