Not as close, but a little bigger deer I rattled in to about 8 yards 2 years ago. Was 3.5 then, can't wait to see what he looks like this year.

that deer has to be sick. No way you sneak up on a sleeping deer like that.

I was going to ask "How can you sneak up on a deer like that, since all the deer I have seen are so incredibly alert and jumpy?"

I thought perhaps it had something to do with the deer's status as a young male, some type of hormonal issue.
