I have recently been given an old 870, and by old I mean only ~10 years. I was thinking of getting a Remington rifled barrel for it and throw a shotgun scope on it. I have quite a few hogs and coyotes I could take out with it. I've read a bit of good info on sabot rounds.

I already own two 870's and an 1187, so I have enough shotguns. I'm basically looking for a project and wondering what the OB's thoughts are on shotgun slugs.

Either that or a tacticool home defense shotgun. They make everything under the sun to bolt on a 870

That's one of the 870's, it is just a shortened 18" barrel. I sometimes use a the other or the auto for hunting.
