I think they were referring to Chargers of the late 70's and mid 80's coached by Don Coryell in which the teams high powered offense lead by Dan Fouts was dubbed "Air Coryell"

I think the TCU game and tonight is proving to Les that we can pass the ball to win games. He should have confidence in Mettenberger now.
We will see when we get to the bigger games though if he has a tendency to go back to his old ways.
I think this has a lot to do with Cam coming in and saying after watching film on LSU since Les has been here, "Look dumbass when they are stacking the box with 8 and 9 guys you can't keep running it down their throat and score points."
Pounding the rock is in Les' DNA though. Hopefully UGA, aTm and Bama try to stack the box he airs it out on them. I'm all about running the football, but there comes a point in time where you have to have an effective passing game to be able to accomplish the run.

I think it was more of Les swallowing his pride and bringing in someone he trusted to run the offense because his style wasn't working. Cam is known for his vertical passing game, Air Coryell offensive philosophy. Les knew exactly what he was getting when he bought in Cam.
