Oscar winner for Best Documentary about the high school football team from Manassas, TN.
shite man, this was a seriously great look at high school football and the power it has to impact the lives of so many kids.
It's a huge responsibility for these high school coaches, and I can only hope my kids have a coach that cares about his players the way that Coach Courtney did if they choose to play ball.
Really highly recommend this as a Redbox rental, or just go ahead and buy it like I just did after watching it.
Great way to kick off football season too.

A great documentary; it's really well done and not schmaltzy like most football related movies.

I must admit, I teared up at the end. Wish he was around when I was playing ball. I could've stayed on the team. Why can't all HS football players watch this??

Started my first ever thread here b/c I thought this was such an amazing movie. It was on netflix streaming when I watched it. Just awesome, surprised it is not brought up more on this board.

(SPOILERS) The part when coach is revealing to the kid that someone will be paying for him to go to college was amazing. One of the best moments I've seen in a documentary in a LONG time.

Nice bump guys!! Glad to see yall enjoyed this film as well.
As for why this isn't shown to all high school players, it was just released on DVD this month, so I have very little doubt that a great number of high school coaches will start showing it to their teams annually.
Two of my good buddies, one who coaches college, the other high school, have already told me they played it for their teams before opening night.
Really amazing story about the kids and coach obviously, but also the story of their actual season and games. Pretty remarkable how it played out on the field. Great lesson for teams to never quit.
Obviously that carries over to their lives off the field as well.
Definitely made me wish my Dad was still around to watch it together. Always remembered him carrying my helmet and pads after practice and games too. That part really made me
