These are your TOP rookie WRs. The #1 guys.
On average, since 2005, the top rookie WR will produce:
66 receptions
908 yards
7 TDs
Or in 1 PPR league formats, 199 points per season. Over the past 3 seasons, 199 points would put a WR slightly outside the Top 20 WRs.
Best case scenario for your rookie WRs? Pick one to be borderline top 20?
Thompkins
Patterson
Austin
Hopkins
Woods
Stills
Wheaton
Dobson
Patton
Allen
Williams

More fun comparisons. 2012 Top 10 PPR WRs. Here are their rookie years. (7 NFL 1st RD Picks)
1. Calvin Johnson 48/756/4
2. Brandon Marshall 20/309/2
3. Dez Bryant 45/561/6
4. AJ Green 65/1057/7
5. Andre Johnson 66/976/4

A guy like Miles Austin goes 66/943/6 last season. 2 time 1k+ WR, 10+ TD season.... and you're telling me Kembrell Thompkins is a better option?

All this tells me is Mike Williams is the boob skin.

Tom Brady > Tony Romo
Sarcasm.

All of that is pretty much the reason I don't get excited about rookie WRs and typically don't draft them.

I mean, rookies are fun. It's always cool to "hit" on one, like TY Hilton or Shorts last season. They were two of the top rooks but were flex/bye week plays for the most part. And they weren't even on fantasy rosters until the middle of the season.
With a game that's based on having more points than the other team, it just doesn't make sense to count on rookies when you can have a guy like Austin, Mike Williams, Stevie Johnson, Lance Moore, etc. These guys consistently put up the "rookie ceiling" numbers without any of the guesswork. Being a good rookie doesn't get you extra points.

Quinton Pattob seems to be building chemistry witb Kaep. I like 2nd & 3rd year guys for my team.

Thompkins
will do it
but Austin will not

If he catches 50 balls ill eat my own dick
Dude will catch 80+ easily if he stays healthy.
Amendola averaged 14 PPG last season in PPR. If Austin matches or comes close that in a flex then you can't really complain

I think D Hopkins will put up good numbers. IMO

I think Tavon has a season similar to Eddie Royal. He won't set the world on fire but will be relevant in PPR.

I never draft a rookie WR unless it's at the very bottom of the draft. Even then, I'd rather grab a former high draft pick in his second or third year.
