A Dove Hunting Tips Thread -- Add what helps you

After an opening weekend of Hunting figure we could start a topic about lessons learned / things that work things that didn't, shot sizes, gun saftey you name it.
1) Mojo's did bring them in
2) 7.5 Shot was better than 8
3) Standing up was easier to hit the birds than sitting down
4) People need to be able to identify birds saw a group of hunters open up on some teal this weekend..thank god they were poor shots and no birds fell.
5) follow thru with your shot..don't stop your gun after you pull the trigger.
6) birds coming at me were damn hard to hit..

Mark your bird as soon as it drops if in a bean field and go straight to it. Put your hat on top of the plant to mark where you start so you don't drift too far while looking.
10 ounce beers go down better and if you drop it while pulling up to shoot you don't lose much.
Don't post on the First Beer of the Day thread that you are drinking 10 ounce domestic can beer while dove hunting.
Rip the breast out or pluck while in the field and put in gallon Ziploc baggie on ice to save mess at home/camp/farm
