Press coverage and physical DB's. Receivers got a 5-10+ yard cushion all night.

Not a flame on him because he's definitely got the ability. Just curious how it stands up to etter defenses. Thoughts?

UF plays primarily man to man coverage, and Muschamp encourages the secondary to get really physical with WR's and TE's.

Clemson played a lot of soft coverage against UGA Saturday.

Not sure about the other teams FSU faces.

Jameis vs. VH3 will be an interesting match-up over the next 2+ years

Tons of wide receivers get very uncomfortable when they get bumped at the line. Just noticing that they pretty much had their way because the DB's gave such a large cushion.

Kid has great skills but I'll hold off crowning him until I see more.

The UF-FSU game is going to be interesting this year, to say the least.

It's his initials

Sorry I don't like typing out Vernon Hargreaves III very often on my phone :TucksTailAndTurnsAway:

Eta: to answer your question, he's the best cornerback in college football

Jameis is gonna be good. He may not be as great as people are going to project him to be based on tonight's game, but he'll be good in Jimbo's system.

Yes, he will struggle against the elite defenses, but usually so does almost every QB. It's up to whether he can make just enough plays to help his team win.

See, Johnny Football (losses to LSU and UF, wins against Alabama).

Watching closely, Jameis does a phenomenal job of reading his options.

Granted this is one game against an unknown Pitt quantity, but just looking at mechanics, he does what a QB should do very well.

I wouldn't use PITT as a barometer of anything good

Unfortunately, I agree with this

It doesn't matter if it were Pitt or Slippery Rock. Dude has the fundamentals, athleticism, & poise. He took shots from 200+ lbs D1 athletes and still delivered precision passes. This fricker is gonna be a problem for the next couple years....

If FSU gets passed Clemson, the only team in their way would be UF. I don't see anyone else beating them, or outscoring them at least.

That FSU / Clemson showdown in October could have NC implications.
