Can't Win...

Well got all the honey do's taken care of, machined my own riser last night to use to get my scope to clear the barrel of my new AR.
Go out site in 3 shots and grouped at 50 yds. Go back to 100 and shoot three times for fun. Third shot and the damn breech is locked up. It's completely stuck almost closed, won't go forward or backwards. Been around guns all my life just not many AR's. Hate to go to the gunsmith (lives about a mile away and a friend), however don't want to beat on the wrong part. Anybody got any ideas other than beat the shite out of it and force it open? BTW this was American made brass rounds.

Is it a live round?
The way we used to get them unstuck is hold the charging handle and slam the buttstock on the ground. It may take a good lick to clear it.

No it's a shot round. Un pinned it and even that took work as the bolt while it appears closed isn't closed all the way to the rear end of the bolt was still in the gas tube by about 2".
Can't budge the bolt, since the gun has only had 5 rounds through it somewhat afraid to beat the hell out of it. However after sleeping on it a night I think that is what is needed. Of course if there is some fatal flaw with the bolt being brand new may be better to have someone with "knowledge" look at it.

If the bolt is stuck closed, you should be able to remove the upper receiver. This will relieve tension on the bolt since it won't have the buffer spring pushing on it.
Remove your upper and put it in a vise or something to secure it.
Try with your might to pull the bolt carrier rearward. If it won't budge, then take a .17 or .22 cleaning rod and slide it into the bore end gently until you feel it stop (it will be resting on the inside of the stuck case). Push it all the way into the breech and gently tap the end of it with a hammer. This should unjam the stuck case.
Again, this procedure is only for fired rounds. If the round is live, I wouldn't push a rod down the barrel.
