Is it possible that the LSU passing game will set up the run?

Mett played very well Saturday, making throws that the LSU offense has not seen since Bert Jones. If that remains the case the balance of the season, look for the Tigers to run for miles this season, perhaps for a season record. This team is deep at receiver and running back as everyone can see. How good is the OL? Looking forward to UF, UGA, 'Bama and TAMU. Smack Saint Nick.

We will have a very balanced attack. Every drive started with a run in Game 1. The run sets up the pass, as we all know. The difference this year is that we can actually execute those plays. We will be able to throw when we want to by conference play, IMO.

What do you mean "will" ?
It Did set up runs this past Saturday.
I saw at least one draw play for good gain. The draw works when they fear the pass.

And yeah, it usually is the other way around for us, but when we kept doing play actions and connecting, the run looked to have caught them back on their heels.

This isn't the first time I've seen or heard this since Saturday night, and I'd swear that those of you who are saying it started following LSU football in 2007. Mett made great strides, and played very well, but let's not get carried away.

You know my first instinct was to write a post saying "slow down, lets not get ahead of ourselves here," but, eff it. For a change, there are more positive posts on this board than negatives and I love it.
Bert Jones was way before my time but I once heard Archie Manning say that Eli was no Bert Jones. If you honestly think Mett looks like BJ7, then I look forward to a championship year!

The pass opened up the run Saturday.

Yes, I confess to a bit of hyperbole, but one can dream. BTW, I watched Mr. Jones play while at LSU...

No.
What will happen are more first down passes, and a defense that is unable to predict what we will do. A more capable offense and our opponents guessing on defense makes my pants tight.

Not possible at all. Hmm. I disagree. Tight pants? OK....
Passing on first down, successfully, could in no way loosen the safeties a tad away from the line of scrimmage or influence the LBs to drop into the passing lanes, especially if they get burned on play action? So JL and OBJ getting loose behind the opposing CBs will have no effect on safeties who may turn their backs to the LOS, lead to blitzing or effect how the DL comes of the ball? None at all. OK, I see your point.
