13-19 3rd down conversions.
Against a very good defense. Much improved from last year when we couldn't seem to sustain drives which wore the defense down toward the end of games.

Agree
The biggest problem with the Clemson bowl game was giving their offense too many opportunities.

We still need to work on red zone offense & clock management.

and you are correct. It is one of the most important stats in every game along with turnovers. Mettenberger has improved a lot with pocket presence, timing and accuracy.

When you rotate 8 guys, the defense shouldn't get tired, at least not to the point where it's an excuse

80 plays to 54 plays. That's the difference

The third down conversions meant LSU dominated time of possession. This reduced the number of plays for the defense, and allowed LSU to use fewer defensive players. So the success of the offense denied several defensive players, especially freshmen, of chances for playing time. I'll gladly make this trade, even if it means we only see the freshmen against inferior opponents after the outcomes of games are no longer in doubt.

TOP was also huge. IIRC, they showed it right before halftime and we pretty much were doubling them.
