Don't know what stock you guys put in ESPN's QBR statistic, but I think it confirms how well Mett did. Check out how he did compared with some other big name QBs:

Mett – 36
Braxton Miller – 43
Taylor Martinez – 53
Jeff Driskel – 55
Aaron Murray – 56

Casey Pachall (TCUs starting QB) - 74
AJ McCarrron – 97
Trevone Boykin (TCUs dual threat QB) – 100
Logan Thomas (Va Tech's "Heisman hopeful") - 115 (of 115)

For reference, Tahj Boyd was #32 so only slightly ahead of Mett.

Thomas does indeed blow but that Bama D is pretty stacked so they deserve some credit

No doubt, but to finish dead last if he was supposed to be a Heisman hopeful? You would think such a "great QB" would have at least been in the top half. A score of 50 is supposed to be average and he scored a 1.9!

Agreed, that's the whole point of the thread.

Yeah, but I watched him closely and he's very inaccurate and inconsistent. He made it really easy for their DB's. His receivers suck though so it's not all his fault

When you put a quarterback on a pedestal like you did mett before he got in a tiger uniform; if it isn't tom Brady like you are going to think he sucks. But its all of your faults. Because you made him out to be Joe Montana.

And this isn't a knock on mett..I would love to have him in a Texas uniform..

Keep in mind that Mett played against one of the better defenses. I was actually surprised how good and fast that defense was.

the expectations of Mett were too much to live up to last year. Especially with a patchwork offensive line that didn't have a consistent line up till November.

Mett played well last night but it could've been better. ODB dropped a few sure catches (just like last year) and Mett was forced to ground some balls and throw some away due to good coverage. Take away the two no call pass interferences and Mett throws for maybe 300+ yards and 3 TDs.

I'm glad he played as well as he did, I'm looking forward to the rest of this year.
