Will the state of Alabama welcome Jameis Winston back with open arms if he beats UA for a NC?

If you want a good look at how Bama fans react to Jameis Winston, check out the Bama board right now. He's getting his knob slobbed, and the folks on BOL are reacting the same way I told you they would to his success... excited to watch him, happy for the kid, disappointed as frick that we didn't land him, and pissed off that our coaching staff didn't land him.

We don't hate Jameis Winston because he left the state. Here's the board, if you want to take a look:

Well frick no we wouldn't be happy. But we wouldn't shun him because he left the state and ended up beating us. We'd be pissed as hell (many already are) that our coaching staff decided to recruit multiple QBs in that class "just in case" Jaboo decided to go the MLB route. That cost us big time.

And about 40% of the state would love him anyway because they hate Bama way more than you do. He'd be a hometown hero regardless. Just as Cam SHOULD be, regardless of where he signs.

The only thing that will be pathetic is if a bunch of grown men and women in WM disown or shun an 18 year old because of where he decides to pursue a lifelong dream - as a few folks in this thread are suggesting should/will happen.

THAT, my friend would be truly pathetic.

If that were the case you would be posting in a Cam thread on some Bama board. Instead you're lurking an LSU board so...

Nobody's gonna disown him or shun him, but certain doors will not be opened for him professionally if he decides to have a career after football. My HS teammate is a Bama Legend from the NOLA area. He stayed there, which has turned out VERY well for him. He would not have had the same access and support had he come home.

I'm posting in multiple Cam threads on multiple Bama boards as well.

I'm discussing Cam on an LSU board, because he lives in Louisiana and LSU is our only competition for his signature.

I've been in this thread for almost a week. I'm not trolling anyone.

Yes but from my understanding this board is for LSU fans. The SEC Recruiting Board and SEC Rant would be the place for discussions with other fan bases. And that's especially the case for topics like the Cam Rob recruitment. We can call our fans out for melting down or saying something retarded, we don't need your help. LSU has great fans that are fully invested in their team but there are always those few can take things too far as I'm sure you are all too familiar with.

I'm going to assume that most LSU fans aren't like you.

There are parents who actually encourage their kids to go away to get away from current friends in their life or their neighborhood if it's dangerous, etc.

"And no he doesn't have to stay in state but if you leave to go play for a rivalry of your state institution you better not have any plans of ever coming back."

They are not, but we do have pissed off, dumb fans like any school.

Robinson has a bright future ahead of him where ever he goes. But the chances of him becoming a true legend of an athlete are better in Louisiana. Alabama already has a shite ton of legends over the decades, plus with Auburn in the state. He would on a long list. While at LSU he could help build his own dynasty in his own state. There is a difference between the two since it has happened before and LSU is undivided in the state. Easily over 80% of all fans in the boot.

Look at Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Treadwell, and the rest. They all said they wanted to build something new.

The chances of LSU winning several national championships over the next few years are pretty damn good. He could increase those chances. Being a part of a potential dynasty in Louisiana would be admired greatly because it hasn't happened here before.

Plus it's easy to see how LSU offensive linemen have progressed recently. Hawkins is a beast now and he could barely play the position a year ago, that's all coaching. Alexander started as a true freshman and did really damn well for most games, even though he was playing out of position at RT. Turner is a beast and started as a RS freshman. Collins has loved his time at LSU and credits the coaches for his development. None of those guys were as college ready as Robinson. Yet Stud/Miles have 4 of the starting linemen all ranked in the top 5 of their positions when they declare for the draft. Those early projections are likely to rise as they play more games
