We don't even need to play a game there to help with recruiting now.

HS kids ain't trying to pull in LSU on AM radio ~ if the sky is clear.

This is impressive if true. 27 years of trying to pull in 870AM and 1130AM from Houston is now gone. Will call dad and let him know

This is definitely true. Wife works for the station and this has been in the pipeline all summer. I believe they will also be doing giveaways for some to tickets.

The wife asked if we could put in for some tickets through he station and they told her no,

Has anyone heard Jim Hawthorne broadcast live through this wonderful invention called the internet? As great a thing this is for when you are driving around town, I do not see many people using it.

I remember back when 1560 tried to carry the games... Their night signal is so God-awful that is was useless to try and listen to the games on it. At least the 610/650 management recognized the limitations of 650 after dark and made arrangements for the switch to 610 for night games.

On a side note, maybe this move is an attempt to grab something tangible in this oversaturated sports radio market. There are 5... count 'em FIVE sports talk stations here in town now. No way that lasts for an extended period!
