No couldn't justify it given the way we abuse the boat. We load it up, haul arse to the marsh camp, fish hard, load it up and put it in the shed. We rarely flush it. It's going on a 1998 hull. Didn't want to overdo it. Saving $10K too.

ETA: You'd know if you ever accepted an invite.

Redmonds is an adult operation. No silliness in their estimates or work.

Perfect and good to know. Most boat shops will dick around. I like hearing this.

Redmonds is a damn good shop.

David wade marine in Baton Rouge is another good one with a good turnaround, might be worth a shot to give them a ring.

I need to replace my engine, then when that's done, replace my boat. Then the trailer.

I actually may get a new trailer out of this deal too.

I've replaced just about everything that can come off of one, so I guess I really did get a new one.

Just talked to a shop. He figured $500 but probably just to lure me in.

Get him to write an estimate with the cost not to exceed $500, sign it and haul arse to dealership.

Helluva deal, if true.

It would still just be an estimate.

Well, here's the new boat, motor and trailer I bought for $4800 this am. Anyone looking for a Grady White Project boat with a cracked transom and busted Mercury, let me know. I'll have one available in a few weeks.
I'm putting the Yamaha on my Mako.

You can use the Grady to haul supplies (beer) to the camp...

What year is the motor? And did you get a compression test done?

For boat motor and trailer with papers, $2k. This little Grady is sweet. I wish it wasn't cracked. If I had fiberglass skills I'd keep it.

I don't have a boat. I have to envy your boat with cracked hull.
