Source said NCAA investigators questioned Manziel on Sunday for nearly 6 hours. It's unclear whether additional questioning is necessary.

There's people who actually think he didn't do it?

considering the reporters who have been breaking everything have a history of being duped and/or flat out making shite up?

yea, it's possible he didn't do anything.

What's been going on with this story. Haven't really kept up with it.

Is this gonna be another cam newton type thing where nothing happens?

I don't know what he did and didn't sign. I don't even know if everything they claim he signed is actually legit b/c the entire authentication system is extremely suspect.

What I do know is autograph brokers are shady as hell, many of them got pissed at the Manziel's when they trademarked "Johnny Football" causing tons of items to get taken off EBay, and the two reporters involved have been flat out nailed being completely full of shite on "major" stories they rushed to break instead of doing due diligence on.

I'm sure they sent the same investigators sent to question Cam Newton.

Well there's apparently actual video of Manziel signing the items so the only real articles of dispute are:

1) Do you believe he signed it all for free?

2) If not, do you believe there's any proof he accepted payment for it?

1. Given Manziel's shady family background, his OOC behavior, and the circumstantial evidence, I don't doubt for a minute that he sold autographs for money.

2. Given the NCAA's track record. I don't believe they'll be able to nail him on it.

probably

it is hard to believe he arranged a bunch of sessions where he signed hundreds of autographs free of charge... but if he sticks to that story it seems unlikely the NCAA will be able to prove anything

Burden of proof isn't too high when you're the judge and jury.

there is a video that only a reporter who has a history of being wrong and flat out making things up to suit his needs has seen.

it hasn't been released, we have never been told how much the video shows him sign, and Schad even said actual payment terms were not discussed.

so again, I'm sorry for being skeptical when reporters with such a terrible track record claim they have a scoop.

yeah but...

The NCAA is wildly inconsistent from case to case. They invented a loophole for Cam and let him play without incident. So yeah, I think it is kinda obvious JFF and his boy Turtle were making money on autographs on the side but if the new and passive NCAA shows up instead of the aggressive and heavy-handed NCAA then JFF and A&M will absolutely walk IMO.

when you can't discredit the story, discredit the source.

All I'm doing is pointing to the obvious.

Schad was front and center with all the bullshite reporting that got Mike Leach fired and Rovell was so lazy with his reporting a high school kid tricked him into thinking he ran an escort service for NBA players.

These aren't people who understand the notion of properly vetted sources.

lets say hypothetically JFF tells schad directly that he took money. that's immediately discredited because it came from schad? it's an exaggeration, but that's basically what you're saying
