Was thinking of maybe reinstalling, if anyone wants to play together. As soon as i can figure out how to get back in my account. Dont have my original email with my serial code and the pasword retrieval system is a bitch.

I log in from time to time. It's getting less frequent though.

The game is pretty much a grind for items.....

Completely against their original intentions. No one does public missions that are part of the living story. Living story missions are all about mass killing stuff for loot. PvP is...well PvP. They are apparently overhauling the WvWvW system so I'm waiting for that. Depending on what they do, I might or might not continue playing, since it is fun when it works, but it hasn't worked in a long time.

And it's the best large scale PvP system I've seen since DAoC. I wish there was another substitute for fantasy style world PvP and castle raiding, but there isn't.

I'll admit I pushed the game hard around here, and it was fun for about 3 months, but it lacked staying power.

Yeah, not sure why i have the urge to play it. I played it for about 2 weeks then uninstalled. I didnt like the lack of tactics. Every fight just seemed like a zergfest. I dont pvp and would probably be bored if there isn't anyone to do the public quests with. Just thought id give it another try. I also disliked the streamlined 4 powers at a time shite, and being able to change by what weapon your using.

I really want to get into another MMO, but GW2 didn't do it for me.

I think I got level 7 and never logged on again

I have an edit to that statement:

No one does public quests that AREN'T part of the living story. So if you go out into the world and try to quest, you will be alone.

If you follow the living story it will be

quote:

zergfest

Because that's all people do. Literally. I did one two weeks ago that was where the great collapse was....now it's a segmented arena of boss fights.

You literally just ran around with the Public Group killing bosses over and over again. The loot was good, but man, that was it. Just zerging mobs.

There's always Rift (no good PvP, but solid game) or now Final Fantasy.

oddly enough, i actually logged in last night and downloaded all the updates.

might spend a few days this week running around on either of my two level 60 or 70s (i forget the max)

game was fun but grinding karma was a stupid chore.

think i have a legendary precursor from one of their first (horribly botched) events im gonna try to sell. hope its worth anything.

I really enjoyed exploring tyria and finding jump puzzles and caves and stuff.

WvWvW was.. eh.. idk.. meh
Same for the arena shite

wanting to see how the game has evolved though

I stopped because I couldn't ever get reliable friends to play it with. Now I'll be doing FF14.

I player Rift for the first six months when it came out.

I really liked that game but at the time, the lack of endgame content drew me away.

I will say that being a tank in that game was really really fun.

Rift seemed a little too bland for me and i wasnt a fan of the class system. FFIX is the biggest POS ever made. Im hoping this wildstar is cool, or everquest next.

IX is one of the best FF games ever made. But I'm sure you meant XIV, so I'll forgive you.

Gave it up, the high level gear is too complicated to craft and I heard the nerfed the drops. At max level not much to do but try and farm.

I didn't like the skill system in gw2. You have your 5 weapon skills which you get bored of quickly. Then you have your utility skills which also get boring quickly and most aren't worth using.

Running dungeons is a complete clusterfrick due to their trying to remove tank classes.

The game is nothing but a grindfest that arenanet tried to disguise to make it seem different. It's the same as WoW except you don't have to talk to NPCs to start quests and the quests aren't as interesting.

You also max out a character way too fast for a game that is supposed to last us for years.

Maybe I am just burned out on the mmo genre. I find the games to be very shallow depth wise.

This. The game just got boring when it became grinding for gear. Leveling was fun the first couple times, but by my third character that got old too.

I couldn't even make it through one character leveling. I quickly saw that each zone was a grind to 100%.

The dungeons are what truly made me quit. It was a ping pong fest of trying to avoid aggro. If youre going to design a game where there are no tanks, you damn well better be sure classes can defend themselves when they aggro. I spent all my time as an elementalist running around and my warrior would bite the dust in 5 seconds as a fully specced defensive stats.

I've grinded my arse off the last couple of days. I'm starting to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lvl 69 Warrior. Gonna try to quest the last 11 levels tomorrow. I've already got my exotic lvl 80 gear lined up and everything.
