I'm bored today and its raining here.

Many of us will recall the famed Seminole Trio of Andre Debose, Ray Ray Armstrong, and Dyron Dye from a few years ago. These guys were some of the most highly recruited players in the country at that time. They visited LSU on more than one occasion, got along well with everyone, and had great times when on campus. Many posters were convinced that Debose was a silent commit and the possibility of getting all three was often discussed.

Dye - 4 star, top 10 DE; signed with Miami; spent his true freshman season attempting to become eligible; redshirt freshman, didn't play much; sophomore, moved to TE, played in 6 games, nothing to write about; junior, started 8 games, caught 4 passes; senior, blew his Achilles in spring practice, on the injured list, also in a black hole regarding his eligibility because the NCAA has implicated him in the Shapiro investigation; he may be done.

Armstrong - 5 star, top 10 ATH; signed with Miami; true freshman, made 14 tackles in 10 games; sophomore, started 11 games at S and made 66 tackles, 3 INTs, and 1 TD; junior, suspended for 4 games after being implicated in Shapiro investigation, started 7 games and made 34 tackles, 1 INT, and 1 fumble recovery; senior, dismissed from team after spring for various violations; signed as undrafted FA with Rams.

Debose - 5 star, top 10 WR; signed with Florida; true freshman, blew out his knee; redshirt freshman, played in all games primarily as a returner, led SEC in kickoff returns and returned 2 for TDs including one against LSU (his first career TD), made 10 catches for 90 yards, made Freshman All-SEC team as a returner; sophomore, played in all 12 games and started 4, made a 65-yard TD catch against LSU (his only catch), returned kickoff for TD against Ohio State in Gator Bowl, Gator Bowl MVP, had 16 catches for 432 yards and 4 TDs; junior, played in 9 games and started 2, returned one kickoff for TD, made 2 catches for 11 yards, returned kickoff for TD against Louisville in Sugar Bowl; senior, blew out his knee in practice last week.

Definitely wanted Ray Ray the most out of the trio, with Debose being a close second.

Who knows how their careers would have ended up elsewhere?

Well..Debose wouldn't have done much in our offense. would have been a beast at KR/PR.

I wasn't just speculating whether he would have come to LSU.. just anywhere else. Florida's offense didn't end up being the best fit for him (which sucks, because he committed when Meyer's offense was the perfect fit for him).

I also wanted Debose and Armstrong the most. You could see that Armstrong was one of those rare freak athletes.

Injuries, suspension, and eligibility took a toll on Dyer. Injuries were a factor with Debose and Florida's offense has blown the past couple of years. I feel if Armstrong would have come to LSU he could have been another Laron.

Wasn't it DuBose that caught a bomb from R. Shepard while he was being nearly decapitated by Craig Loston in the UA AS game? Talk about 6 degrees of LSU.

would Ranters consider this typical (the % of fail v. good v. great careers) of most recruiting?

Would we expect to get one impact player out of every three 5*/4* with attrition, grades, violations, and injuries?
