Spent the day with my mom today. Being that I'm kinda frightened by the College Drive Walmart, we decided to peruse the one in Central (where I'm from) and I spotted this gem.

I turned to the back for microwave instructions.. Luckily it only had grill and stovetop instructions.

But seriously? This is the oddest frozen product.

Probably similar to the ones sold out of the back of pick-up trucks...You know, by the shady guy who rides around neighborhoods with a freezer in the bed of his truck, offering you a "deal" for just $100.

So is it a frozen steak or is that thing precooked? Because if step 1 is thaw then you just bought a raw steak.

ETA: see it is pre-tenderized...that can't be good for the sodium content.

I guess it's frozen and raw..? Just weird how it's boxed and frozen. What advantage does one have to buy that over a non-frozen steak from at least the store they're in?

What does "enhanced with up to a twelve percent solution" mean?

I think that was the line I used to convince my wife to say "I do."

Can't be good for consumption. Honestly you have me wanting to try this damn steak now. If I didn't have to go to Walmart to pull this off I would be there tomorrow.

Is that the same crap they inject into pork by John Morrel (and possibly other brands)?

That's not nearly as odd as the "steak" at the Dollar Tree

It's simply a frozen steak. Likely terrible quality, but also likely very cheap.

injected with a mostly saltwater solution that will help it not taste as dry. Same stuff they do to frozen turkey.
