Between the rising cost of tickets, concessions, and merchandise, combined with the proliferation of various affordable NFL TV packages, why do people still chose to go to NFL games? I understand going to away games and making a vacation around it, of course.

Does anyone here own season tickets to a team and care to shed some light as to why you still go to games?

Saints tickets aren't that expensive where I sit and I love that it's a chance for me to bond with some of my family and friends. Plus I bring a flask in and rarely pay for beer. I could sit at home and watch in HD, but I have a great time at the game and love being there with the same people I've always sat with.

Have had Saints season tix since 2006. Cheaper than LSU season tix, no TAF fees, less traffic, and just a more convenient trip in general.

While I still love going to LSU games, a Saints game only takes up 10am-4:00 pm of my Sunday including driving 5 min, tailgating, the game, and the drive back whereas LSU takes up literally an entire Saturday.

interesting. if you have the means, i certainly understand it. but i have some friends in grad school and in debt shelling out thousands on season tickets and i just don't get it.

My buddy got us season tickets to the Saints for $300 for the whole season.

I like to watch football in person when I can.

I am not even remotely a Saints fan. In fact, living in Louisiana and discovering how much y'all randomly hate the Cowboys has made me dislike the Saints. I'm still going to the games.

ok, so that's what i'm asking. why not just give them up forever? it's not like costs are going to go anywhere but up for the foreseeable future.

Why would anyone go to an LSU game vs. watching them on TV?

It's crazy how game tickets are still rising despite the economic downturn and emergence of Redzone. It just shows how football-obsessed our society is
