Saw this last night and really liked it. Movie follows your standard summer coming of age formula but it is well acted/written. It's at our local indie movie theater so not sure if its in the big theaters.

Steve Carell does a great job playing a huge dick in this movie.

That seems to be the general consensus. I really want to see this.

yea

yea it's basically Adventureland redux

While I definitely enjoyed it, there's just something about it that doesn't sit well with me.

Like, it doesn't do ANYTHING different from what we've seen before. As you're watching the film, you feel like you've seen it before.

I don't want to sound like I'm griping, because the movie is well done and enjoyable. But it's just redundant and feels unnecessary, if that makes any sense

it's like deja vu

I really didnt mean that as a slight. Every movie genre technically has a "formula" that's just the one for this movie. The formula only makes a movie suck if its obvious that that's all they are relying on.

Not the case with this movie. Very well done.

Just watched the trailer and at the very beginning I thought of Little Miss Sunshine and then saw it was the same director.
