Finally a balanced, reasonable article about Hill...It is the advocate, but hey...

Required reading for the likes of Gregg Doyel, Guilbeau, Gary Patterson, ESPN, and the rest of the chattering class that wants to pillory Jeremy Hill (and by extension our Louisiana legal system, along with Les Miles).
From Judge Jackson:
And DA Moore about the revocation hearing:
Anyway, flame way Rant.
SIAP. But not really. Don't care.

From Judge Jackson:
quote:
“I resent the implication that has been created by the media that this case has been handled any differently from any other case,” Jackson said in a telephone interview Friday, responding to questions about Monday’s hearing. “The only thing that has been different about this case is the amount of media attention that it’s been given.”
And DA Moore about the revocation hearing:
quote:
That decision, District Attorney Hillar Moore III said, fulfilled a promise prosecutors made to the mother of the 14-year-old victim in Hill’s first criminal case.
Anyway, flame way Rant.
SIAP. But not really. Don't care.

Read this today and I agree with Judge Jackson and not because JH33 is a LSU football player. When you look at the person and what they have to lose or gain determines the decisions made by the court. JH33 has incurred scrapes with the law but it is in the best interest of the taxpayers to evaluate the likelihood that the defendant will straighten up or plunge deeper into bad behavior patterns.
JH33 is on the cusp of falling to the negative side and jail time would likely push that to a certainty. This chance/break will likely be his last if he does not take advantage of it but if successful could put him back in society's positive side.

Jackson endorses this!
And would probably say the same thing at each revocation hearing at which she presides.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make to a friend of mine.
He's not an LSU fan though, so of course he wasn't having any of it.

You can’t get away with doing that, particularly when you’re living in a glass house already,” Moore said. “That’s why we felt that jail — or some type of punishment, whether home incarceration or detention — would have sent a better message to the community.”
Oh yea because you're doing such a great job cleaning the streets of Baton Rouge up Mr. Moore

I don't know which is worse.
Hill taking an offered B/J while in high school from a high school girl in 2010 and then hitting a guy with his fist in 2013 or the holier than thou reaction from some calling for him to go to prison or suffer some terrible like punishment.
No judge with any common sense was going to revoke him and no coach was going to kick him off the team or suspend him three or four games.

Why is the judge commenting on the trial? This is unethical on her behalf, no?

There was no trial.
There was a hearing and she can explain her ruling if she wants.

Hillar Moore's comments bother me. And the mother of the 14 year old should be more worried about why her daughter is offering to blow every guy she meets instead of continuing to try to crucify Hill.

The role of the courts and the university is to make individuals a better and productive member of the society. Ask those who wanted to sent Hills to jail or kick him out of the team if he would have become a better member of the society by doing that. You have to see the potentials in him vs the further harm. To me Hill sounds more intelligent than a lot of football players I have seen and the judge and coaches see that.

A lot of us aren't saying throw him in jail or kick him off the team. We are just saying teach him there are consequences to his actions, and the best way to do that is suspend him a few games. I am sorry but extra running isn't enough.. It's embarrassing to our program that TCU's head coach is essentially right in what he said. There has to be a few on here that care about integrity over W & L's..

He was arrested, charged, suspended from the team, taken to court, made to pay medical bills, made to pay court cost, make to perform community service, not allow to associate with LSU football for months, lost his starters role, and placed on probation.
I think he is well aware of the consequences to his actions.

Hill will not play in the LSU/TCU game but TCU coach had no business making that comment, totally classless and hopefully he will fire up the team to teach him a lesson.

A thug is a thug is a thug. You can't change a Tigers stripes (so to speak). He's a great football player but a menace to society. Sucker punching a helpless individual like that is uncalled for and criminal. He could have killed the guy. My respect for him and Miles both went down the drain with that video. I'm just calling it like I see it. I hope Hill gets his act together but I doubt it very seriously. Miles is only keeping him on the team because he's a great football player. He's not molding this young man to be a success in real life at all. A bunch of hot air and b.s. ..... It's all about the "W's." Who are we kidding. I still love my Tigers but Miles legacy as a role model and helping kids become better people while at LSU on football scholarship is a joke. Saban would have kicked his arse off the team right then and there -but that's another heated topic as well. It's late and I'm tired of all the crap that goes on in the LSU football program from a negative standpoint. And while I'm on a negative role what does that say about the character of this football team when they allow Hill (by vote) to continue to be on the team? If he were my teammate he would have been voted off the team. What a loser.

He let a freshman ho give him a blowjob while in high school and threw a punch at a guy in a bar fight. That makes him a thug?
