Not saying we will lose out on LF, but IF, who do we have a realistic shot at? D. Williams? or is there a big fish out there that we have an in with?

We have a bunch of guys instate for 2015 so might not take anyone this year. But theres still Darrell Williams if he has a good year

While the first part of your statement is true, the latter is not. We cannot afford to take only one back in this class, no matter how many we plan on taking in 2015.
Look at how thin the prospective depth chart will be after this season:
Blue, a senior, is definitely gone.
Hilliard, Hill, and even Magee are all draft-eligible after this season as well. I'm not saying that even one of them for sure leaves, but it isn't unthinkable.
Aside from the aforementioned quartet of backs we have on the roster in 2013, there isn't a player that is "locked into" another year of eligibility. Thus, we need to beef up our numbers in the backfield ASAP.

1 undersized SEC back signed over a 2 year period? We have a back up plan. Waiting till 2015 isn't an option. We could be very thin at that position in a year from now depending on what happens. I am not talking about short on numbers but not having talent like LF and Hill. We all know Les likes to run between the tackles. We need some sledge hammer backs who can do that.

Yeah, no. LF should be in P n G wrecking shite. I expect LF to slide into the spot created specifically for him and dominate from his very first game. LSU stacked. Rest of world scurred. And they should be.

Even if there is a back-up plan, I doubt that it would be a very good one. The staff went all in on this one and i think that they have to be ultra confident about where we stand with him being we haven't made a push for any of the other "bigger named" backs out there. A real back-up for LF doesn't exist cause there isn't another back nearly as talented as him in this years class. I think we'll be okay on this one. And very fresh topic by the way.
