Last time I was there it was Chain central, but that was like 7 years ago. Good luck, I'm sure there are many good options.

Last time we were up there we tried Sharky's. It was pretty good. I got the Fish Tacos and they were decent. Wife had stuffed shrimp and liked them.

Zachary's Cajun Cafe on Kingwood Drive.
Pretty good food. Owner is a big LSU fan.
Great place to watch the games.

Leave and go down 1960. Find something there. There is no food in Kingwood.

Chimichurri's- It on West Lake Houston. South American cuisine. awesome business lunch special. Get the salmon.

Italianos, 2 locations. Real good italian food at a very reasonable price.

Texas Sushi Hana- inexpensive sashimi, but really good. great service.

Zachary's Cajun Cafe is own and operated by LSU fans. Menu is good and food is worthy....one of the few places in H-town that confirm you want your poboy "dressed".

Akashi Sushi is legit. Their Salmon Carpaccio, Tuna Tataki and Yellowtail Jalapeno appetizers are kick arse! frick Sushi Hana....it sucks donkey balls.

Chimichurri's is awesome for some South American food.

Sharky's is next door to Chimichurri's and offers some very good gulf coast seafood. "Rod and Reel" is my favorite.

Chachi's is a good Mexican food joint which has very good ceviche among other things.
