Thoughts on Winchester 1400?

I have an opportunity to buy a Winchester 1400. I don't know much about this gun and it would be my first semi-auto shotgun. I am more an over under guy. Thoughts are appreciated. TIA

My grandfather had one when I was growing up. I used to deer hint with it but never killed anything. It was a heavy gun but very nice. I remember it had a good bit of checkering. Gone now... That yahoo lost it in a card game.

Kicks like a mule. An old boss gave me one because I took him duck hunting once. It was heavy and the stock seemed longer than the 1300 pump I was shooting at the time, so I never got the feel of it. It wasn't a bad gun at all. It would cycle anything I put through it, and looked great. I really wish I hadn't traded it, but that's the case with most guns I've traded.
