Seeing this on Saints Report. It's not definitive and the FO hasn't released anything but it would explain Morgan's silence lately as well as the recent interest in free agent WRs from the organization. I would imagine recovery time would be 4-6 weeks.

Well it could be worse if this time table is accurate. Damn I hate injuries.

A torn meniscus doesn't necessarily call for surgery.

He can't be put on the PUP at all once he practices.

You have to be on the Preseason PUP list (never practiced in Training Camp) and then transition to the regular season PUP.

Once you practice its either IR or the roster.

and that's why they give you that designation for one player to be able to return... hmmm...

For example, Victor Butler, Colston and Patrick Robinson are all eligible until they take a single official practice rep.

Yes, that is new, but its not the PUP. Joe Morgan cannot be placed on PUP. Ever.

He can be placed on IR with the "Designated to Return" label, and only one player can get that. He can return after 6 weeks and then practice for 21 days without being placed on the roster, if memory serves.

It's time for the Nick Toon pain train.

Toon and Morgan have different roles, but still...I'd like for the Saints to get value out of that third round pick. Let's see if Kenny Stills can step up or maybe even Andy Tanner (if Morgan is hurt, anyway).
