beach side just outside of the first break of waves. Throw towards the beach. We caught on double rigs, topwater if the surf is calm, and a few on live bait carolina rigged or under a cork. good luck

I'd recommend hitting the Tracy Macy and getting croakers, last couple trips I made thats all they wanted. fished them on carolina rigs in the surf or under corks behind the islands. Let us know how you do, I haven't had much luck around a new moon lately

We went to the bait boat yesterday and they didn't really want much to do with the live bait. Probably 80 of our 111 were on plastics

Just hoping that the wind and weather cooperate.

Any idea how rough or clam the seas are right now?

On the way back home now.

We didn't hammer the fish but I had a good time. Caught 35 keepers. It was a good learning trip as it was my first trip to the area.

Thank you to the nice young man that I met up with at the launch. He was experienced in the area and told me I could follow him out and around to some spots.

He said he had been catching better trout at the Mardi Gras rigs recently so we headed there first. Picked up a few but tide was moving too fast. He then showed me to the pickets. Didn't do anything there. We then went over to Last Isle. Fished the rocks along the gulf side.

The fish really turned on as the tide started to slow down between 9:30-10:30. Right as the bite was really turning on a thunderstorm forced us to take cover on the beach in one of the coves until it passed. Had the most success on popping corks but they didn't seem too picky on color. Just had to locate them.
