One day it was too rough to fish while at the camp. My youngest two boys are impatient as hell about waiting on weather so we cruised along the roadside between Fourchon gas station area & Grand Isle bridge. I was shocked, but we pulled in several reds fishing the "ditches" along the roadside. One I caught on a weedless gold spoon in an area of water MAYBE 8' wide. I always just take my boat out so this was new to me. I always see people fishing, but figured it was a fish or two each trip tops. We had fun together, and they quit bugging me about fishing so all was well in their world & mine.

Don't go in the water if you have cuts on your feet/legs..

Go fish the surf the east side of elmers if the surf isn't too bad. Go almost all the way down til you get to the no trespass signs. Had good luck on an electric chicken, and gold speckled plastic cocaho minnow set with double rig..
